Published on the occasion of the exhibition @the Maison Europene de la Photographe in Paris (2004). Brodovitch, art director of Harper's Bazaar from 1934 to 1958, pretty much invented the double-page spread, as well as innovatively placing emphasis on negative space in layouts. This book is also the first significant Brodovitch publication since 1989; the illustrated index, drop cover, and full-page facsimile reproductions make for a very attractive introduction to the world of this seminal fashion culture figure.
